Infrastructure Development Moves Forward

Tower 2 Replacement

The Tower 2 replacement project is underway! This project will replace the 70 year old water tower on Warrior Drive with a tank twice the size and at a higher elevation, increasing pressure for our customers on the 600N hill. Like the previous tower replacement in the historic part of Battle Ground, the new elevated tank is designed to keep the water mixed which will prevent settling and preserve the effectiveness of the disinfectants added during treatment. We look forward to its installation next year.

This project will also add a generator and make some infrastructure updates on Main Street in the historic part of town; these updates will include a new section of water main, addition of fire hydrants, and replacement of some lead goosenecks. Because interest rates dropped to such a favorably low rate prior to the presidential election, the loan for the 2018 Tower 1 project was also refinanced within this project at a significant savings to the District.

Documentation is available at town hall for public view. The office is open by appointment and visitors must wear face covering, please call 765-567-2603.  Thank you!

Tower 1 Inspection Notice

The elevated water tank located on Railroad Street will be undergoing a required inspection sometime shortly after the Thanksgiving holiday. This inspection requires that the tank be emptied in order to inspect the interior of the tank.  While the tower is empty, pressure and flows will be regulated by the well pumps, pressure relief devices in the distribution system, and by pressure-sensing devices on the water lines.

The BGCD thanks water users for their patience and understanding of this required inspection.
